Hand Carved Walleye
This little trolling bait is carved from Bass wood, has a deep diving G-10 bill, wire through, hand painted glass eye's, polycarbonate dorsal fin, and it is my first attempt at carved scales. Sealed with propionate, painted with H.O.K. paints, and top coated with E-tex. It is 7.5" long and weighs 2.7oz. I made this one to use behind my row trolling boat.

Balsa cranks
Four balsa crankbaits. All have single piece stainless thru-wire construction, fully tied back to itself. They're sealed with Envirotex, painted with Createx, and clearcoated with 4 coats of Dicknite's topcoat. All use custom cut lips.

injured fish swimbaits
made these for a guy who wanted some baits that swam on their side as if injured.
all are approx. 7", slow sinking
hooks are held in position with magnets so they won't flop around.

Deep BalsaBabe
The shad color bait is epoxy sealed, Createx paint, 4 coats of brushed Dicknite's Clear Topcoat, Fully tied straight-pull single piece stainless wire 3-point harness, lure body is a single piece of 1/2 inch balsa, with a circuit board lip.
The chartreuse-crawfish twins are made sandwhich style using 2 pieces of balsa each, but are otherwise the same besides having slightly smaller lips.. Nothing like fishing custom lures that are built for specific lakes and conditions!

Green River Minnow
This is a 6-7" swimbait that I make from Featherlite. The tail is Lexan. A close friend described the pattern from memory of a bait that he has long since lost and wanted to see on one of my baits. He was excited with the result. Please give some honest opinions.
Thanks for looking.

"Scorpion" spoons

Finally I have found the time to complete the jointed spoons that I had introduced in my thread "Metal Swimbait Or Jointed Spoon" a couple of weeks ago .
These spoons are made of 1,0 mm thick stainless steel sheet and about 16,5 cm(bit more than 6 1/2")in length and I estimate them at approx. 50 grams of weight(little less than 2 ounces) .
Due to the tail segments I have named that lure "Scorpion" spoon , as they strongly remind me of a curved scorpions tail(but have a treble instead of a sting:lol: .
One or another user in here might have watched the video linked in the thread mentioned above , .........I have replaced the deeply cupped front section of the first prototype shown in there by now to a moderately cupped one , as these swim far better .
I haven't bothered about painting these lures , as the paint would have surely gotten scraped off at the attachment holes , as I had a tough time assembling the splitrings thus joining the single segments .
Now I am waiting for my next boat trip to cast them at local pike to determine about their opinion about my latest lure design;) , but it should still chill down a bit towards fall season .

First Swim Bait- Green/White Pearl.
First swim bait, man is there some work in these?
Made from Kauri Pine , 4.5 inch, weighs about 23gm (about 3/4 oz), just floating in fresh, so should be O.K in the salt.
Swims O.K, but could have done what V.M said, and removed more weight from the front, rolls a bit - Learnt a lot here, the next one should be twice a quick to make, and maybe swim a bit better.pete

Experimenting
Hey there,
I seen a couple of these type of lures on here so i decided to make myself one of em. I made the props on this guy cause I didnt have any lol. I also decided to paint them just to be different also. Well he sits eye level in the water so hopefully he works good. I just messed with a punch of stuff on this one and I liked the way it turned out so I was just wondering what everyone else thought of it:teef:. Also gotta give a big thanks to Dieter and Mark on this one, they helped a lot with it:yay:.
Thanks for looking, Jacob

Gizzard Shad
This is a funny looking little baitfish with it's eye position and rounded head. My challenge here was to capture gill detail without carving. This is loosely based off a Big-O and is weighted in the belly and a small shot in the tail. The lure is 6" long and weighs in just over 2oz. Wire through construction, G-10 lip, hand painted glass eyes and foiled.

lagoon 6 12 11 8.37 popper fish
Big fish, first cast. I used a bloop/bloop/pause retrieve, and thought I saw a blowup behind it about 10' into the retrieve. Two more bloops, and she nailed it.
It was right at the buoy line in front of a swim beach, where there is a drop off from 10' to 30'.
BPS Stacey King med. lite cranking rod, Quantum Accurist reel, all circa 2003, 14lb BPS Excel mono.
That's my favorite top water setup.
