I finally finished this mold today. I will need to make a few tweaks before cutting any more of this pattern, but its finally good enough to show. I was making some other baits so I just tried some things with the colors I was already using. The "laminates" turned out much better than I expected. I think with the right choice of colors this bait will not need to be painted. Just add an eyeball and a spot. I had a whole pack of craft eyes for it on my desk... well some of you have seen my desk... LOL.

Bob your new bait looks fantastic. Will you be selling the molds any time soon. I bet if you design on with a paddle tail it will also get a few anglers attention. Great work again. I am looking for someone who does cnc work trying to get my inline weight mold made. The bondo two piece mold is just not the way to go.

Lots of folks seem to think this needs a paddle tail. I was thinking of a totally different presentation. Drop shot with normal slightly bouyant plastic, or fished like a jerkbait with soft sinking heavy salt plastic. Like I fish the Squareback Minnow.

Obviously a paddle tail would sell better. LOL.

Nice bait Bob. This bait would swim really nice if you put some slits like the castaic bluegill. Similar profile. I've caught a ton of big bass on it.

That bait is going to destroy fish just the way it is. I fished something like it and it resembles a dying shad in the water. When I purchase the bait I really didn't think it would get bit but I ended up with two dozen green bass the day i fished the bait. The bait I was throwing was rigged weedless and I was tossing the bait in some thick weeds and once it hit the outside of the weed beds the green bass were exploding on it. Again outstanding work on the mold and bait. I would love to try a few out.

Weightless or on a lightly weighted swimbait hook? I played with it some yesterday weightless, and it flutters down nicely, but comes through the water like a top.

Caught all my fish flipping a Simple Craw in black (not smoke) sparkle with chart claws though.

I thought about seeing if I could ballon rig it for drifting too, but never got around to that. I imagine I may want to play with that sort of rigging in the aquarium so I can get level floatation consistently.

Bob I fished it with just a big off set weedless hook no weight at all. As the bait laid on it side and fluttered down very slowly the bass were inhaling the bait. I would say I caught at least 7 bass before the bait was trashed. If I would have brought my superglue the same bait could have been repaired to catch more fish. Bob I did get your message on the inline weight. I am trying to build a few more so I can send you a couple proto types in order for you to see if you could work your magic on getting a two piece aluminun mold for the thing. I will shoot you a message once I get them ready and thank you very much.

Put a boot tail on that dude and it would be 1 awesome swimbait. I bet it would be great as a dropshot as it is.
