I can't even imagine how much time and effort it took to get all that detail, and the scaling.

I don't know how to do it, but it's a perfect candidate for air brushed soft plastic paint.

I am actually trying to come up with a plastic combination that will only require me to add an eyeball and an attack spot. It does laminate, but the top color tends to pool near the anal fin, an has a laminar film over part of the body color. I think a lighter smoke sparkle for the back, and a transparent pearl with hologram flake for the body might work.... then I need to order some more eyes. I still have not found the ones I had.
