Thanks Stacy! I sand my bills beginning with about 400 and work progressively finer, finally finishing with 12,000 and a fine dremel buff. But you can shortcut that, depending on the degree of polishing you want. I began polishing the edges a long time ago to avoid losing fish when my line scraped across a large and rough lexan bill. It became epidemic on those high-energy schooling post-spawners, especially when leading them around the boat, and often it was fish in the 3 to 4 pound range, not a monster. Finally the light bulb came on. Until it did, I got back a lot of baits by simply sitting and waiting for the fish to throw the lure, which happened about 9 times out of 10. I've been smoothing lips ever since.

P.S. I got a new BASSMASTER today which included a tackle tip to "sharpen your buzzbait blades to a knife edge". I couldn't believe it! Of course line never wraps around the blade, does it?
