Goby

This is my goby molded from sculpy. I like using clay for the master as it is much more forgiving than wood or metal. The only drawback is that you can't retain the master.

The color is one I just put together for a customer.

I always have trouble try to blend. The first color that I pour sometimes runs as I'm pouring the second color. Then it will form little cracks. If you understand what I'm talking about, hard to explain.

The trick to reducing the "cold cracks" is to heat a pot of scrap rubber and pour it into the mold to pre-heat it. I don't like to put my molds into the oven to pre-heat; I'm more interested in getting just the cavities to heat up.

Awesome design and baits Nil!!!

I think it also helps to pour in molds that are NOT aluminum when attempting to blend the colors. The aluminum cools the plastic quick because it draws the heat out where many other materials seem to resist the heat and your plastic stays hot for longer.

5 stars!!!!!!!
