Best Fly-Realistic Golden Stonefly (Hesperoperla Pacifica)

This is a realistic Golden Stonefly tied on a bent, curved shank nymph hook. The materials on the fly are as follows: hackle stems for the fore and aft antennaes, latex strip for the abdomen, ostrich herl for the gills, melted mono fishing line for the eyes, mono fishing line built up with wood glue for the legs, scintilla dubbing burnt at the ends with a lighter for the head and body covering. The wingcases are built up layers of fabric that have been treated with head cement. The fly was tied with 70 denier white Ultrathread and colored with Prismacolor markers and coated with acrylic clear varnish. The fly in its entirety takes about 37 hours of tying, coloring, and varnishing.
