In the world of crank baits getting one that hunts is almost the Holy Grail. Even from one bait to the next made with "identical" components sometimes one will hunt and the next one won't so this test bait goes directly in my boat.
Hunting is a word that describes a particular type of action for a crankbait. It retrieves on track, goes off track without rolling over, and then comes back on track. A crank bait with a nice wiggle that retrieves on track will catch fish, but one that hunts will catch fish that weren't even hungry. The hunting action provokes what is called a reaction strike.
