Waterhen Bloa

Hi

This is a standard North country spider pattern. A lightly dubbed body of mole over pearsals primrose silk and a waterhen hackle. A simple but very effective pattern. I fish these on the freestone rivers here in Yorkshire. It is a simple pattern to tie once the light dubbin method has been mastered. The hackle is tied in tip first.

Phil,

Before the meet, I didn't realize how talented at fly tying you were. When I was a much younger chap, I would spend hours tying flies and streamers for the the opening day of trout season and come opening day, I'd up to my chest in 34 degree water with my Father a few hundred feet away.

Very nice looking fly; hope the fish like it as much as I do.
