Longear Sunfish- need help

Thanks, but I definitely need to find a different way to do those blue markings. I was thinking about folding some mesh over a few times and spraying through it. You think that will give me what I'm looking for?

Jordan, you don't need to match the hatch exactly. That crank you painted is a very good copy of a long ear.

maybe adding to a wider spectrum of color would help?? - like different shades of blue and orange.

if you're really hung up on the method of spraying the blue markings, you could take the extra time and make a stencil using a plastic sheet and burner or whatever... just draw out exactly what you want and cut/burn/melt it out.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll just do it the same way. I might use a finer brush for the markings and a stencil for that "ear".

Don't worry about it, you don't have to be exacting with the pattern. If you are happy with color match the overall effect is great already. Now do the same thing in a topwater, a real shallow bait and you'll have the bedding season covered!

Add water and that puppy will swim off..........

I have never made anything that nice, however, I know Bob Ross would use a thick brush with a pretty dry load of paint and just tap it on his canvas. He gets some pretty random and natural patterns with it. Just a stab at it =p

That is a real sunfish your holding there right? If not you have just topped mother nature my friend!
