Another mini crankbait I was messing with. Basswood, lightly ballasted, and moves pretty good. Again, not the funnest thing to paint, but pretty cool.

This lure is not working so well. It did with some testing, but I think I messed up the line tie placement for some reason. I think the line ties need to be closer to the lip. Will do this one over.

What does it do , ........not wiggle sufficiently ?

At a glance I would think so , as the lip is pretty short to force the lure off its straight course ,....... therefore kick to wobble .

And even being that short , a big part of its plane is "rounded off" with topcoat , also a drawback on it's efficiency .

Just try taping a temporary lip onto the short one somehow , the lure won't run perfect like this , but you could find out about any new tendencies !

Make it approx. three times longer as the present one , ...... also not wider than the lures width ,...... you could always shorten it , anyway:wink::yes: .

Or leave the lip at first , bend a temporary line tie of wire and tape below the nose tip for testing , this way you'd also get a first impression about the altered action without any permanent operations on the lure .

Would be too bad to have this little beauty wasted:yes: !

good luck , diemai:yay:

Some good points. What it does in the water is more of an S pattern, meaning it sways to one side or another. There is no tight wobble.I guess I could try a different lip and line tie. It would not be to much dmg to cut out the lip, I dont think I will get the line tie to change though. That thing is epoxied in pretty good.

This sounds to me like the lip is really too small to "engage" into the water , since many lipless sinking gliders with a very similar body shape and line tie location act like that as well on a steady retrieve !

You don't neccessarely have to pull out the present line tie(I suppose , its made of twisted wire?????) , you can also carefully snip it off and file/grind its remainders back to body outline leve , .....a drop of paint and you're done !

But probably this little dude really is too small to have sufficient space for even glueing in a new twisted wire eye , also weight and balance could be a greater issue !

good luck , diemai:yay:

yeah, I didnt think about the weight if I snipped it off. I am gonna start with getting some of that etex off the lip.
