I injected those in a pop mold Mike. We were having the discussion regarding injection and pop and resin molds. I can hand pour it after it is warm and even without vents, it pours perfect.

Jim what s great looking bait. Nice work there. Jim I got a question for ya. I have been messing around with a full body mouse bait and have been having problems pouring it without it getting a dimple on bait. Can you share any tips. I was going to try to cut a few vents in my two piece silicone mold to see if I can correct the dimple issue. But if you can share a few tip I would appreciate it.

I have been following that thread, that is exactly what got me looking for the vents. You have helped me with some dialogue in making a two piece grub mold in the past. I have made a few molds now and have one currently that pours very well, but is a little bigger than what I want. Every new one I make I give less vents and it amazes me how well they pour. The last one I made even gets some 'flashing'in the seem. When I saw this I wondered if a grub would pour without venting, it would cut down on the trimming. Because of the flashing it seems like some gasses are releasing, just wondering if enough would.

Thanks

Mike

Frank:

If you leave a bait in the mold til very cool, like overnight, do you still get the dimple? You might either have to cut a vent or let the bait get completely cool to resolve that issue. I am guessing the large volume of plastic cooling is causing the problem. I have the same issue with one of my larger frog molds. If I leave it to cool completely, I get a complete frog.

Jim I have tried to leave the bait in the mold to cool a bit longer but with no success. The dimple still shows up. I will take you advice and cut in a few vent holes in the new mold to see if it helps out. I still have much to learn making these things. But enjoy this hobby a great deal. Thanks again Jim for your help.
