Nice! I love these old style baits. I have found lures with the integrated lip to be difficult to build. Mine always want to lay on their side, not wiggle, etc. I have tried building tadpollys many times and seldom have any success.

I had tried my hands on enlarged "Tadpollys" as well years ago , .......they did not swim well , too :( !

There are two essential things about such lures , .........at first the line tie has to placed low enough down the tip of the nose of the lure , any effort to place it higher in attemt to achieve a deeper dive or stronger wobble is bound to fail !

Second is , that the front portion needs to be less buoyant compared to the rear , .......this way the diving plane would get to hang deeper(at least a horizontal position at rest required) , thus shoulder better into the water on retrieve .

I guess , the mistake of mine was , that on these multi-sectioned lures all of the hardware rendered the lure tail-heavy , had to place some ballast right behind the bottom of the diving plane , .....thus the lures probably became too heavy for an easy movement , ........also the line ties are located a bit too far upward , I guess .

With my one-piece "Rush Tango" versions last years or so I did not have any problems(there must be a thread about these in here somewhere) !

live and learn , ....thanks , Dieter
