An 8 inch pumpkinseed wooden spook I'm working on for a customer..Still not finished but once again, I had to upload a picture. Still needs some sanding on the belly and some orange paint on the belly.

Its bass wood and I weighted it with lead. Its from a picture of a pumpkinseed I have and it's a photofinish with createx paint.. It was really hard to apply the foil on a round bait. I use e-tex and i apply it between paint coats. I still have to paint the belly and apply e-tex over that last bit of paint on the back and belly. I also have to touch up some of the orange spots on it with my airbrush. I will also apply 2-3 layers of e-tex too finish it off to protect it from those musky teeth. If you want one I can make you one but they sell for 40 dollars a piece. I just sold a crap load and am out of the wood so I need to stock up on some more... give me a week and I'll have more in stock. The walk the dog is AMAZING and musky love them. If you want one email me - bruce.earp22@yahoo.ca I can maybe reduce that price since your a TU member..

That is no paint job, it does look nice though. Also, being a Musky bait, how are you attaching the screw eyes to basswood? One more question, If it has amazing action now, how will 2 or 3 more coats of E-tex affect this bait?

Thanks for the complements guys..Hey Douglous.. As I mentioned above, its a photo finish and I use createx paints to touch up the colours and for the back and belly. I will also be adding transparent orange and yellow to the white belly, it gives it a really nice look. It will still have amazing action with 2-3 coats of epoxy, I've made alot of these and tested them and I made them using the same method and with the same amount of epoxy. The reason i say 2- 3 is because I base how many coats on how thick the epoxy is when it goes on each time. I find that the walk the dog action isn't affected really at all with the 3 coats of epoxy. After I'm done it I will post a link to a video of the action(as long as the lake hasn't frozen yet lol).. I attach the screw eyes by using e-tex epoxy when i screw them in to the bass wood. it holds them quite well..

I always touch up my photofinish lures with paints because there always seems to be a blur or something. I find it really brings out the colours when they are faded or there is something I don't like. I always epoxy over the foil though so if I make a mistake, I can wash it off and try again.

Shaggy has one in the tutorial forum. There is also Husky's foiling tutorial. Both are pretty easy to follow.
