Bears Baits Hollow Body Swimbait

Recommended Posts

Don't have that mold, and don't have a dual color injector.

If you want a true dual color injection mold, you really need a single cavity per shoot, top pour type of mold with a straight feed from the injection port to the cavity.

There are tricks to every mold, so you can possibly make it work with a little trail and tribulation.

My suggestion(I'm working on something too right now) is to order the mold and learn it completely.

The blade that causes the hollow body effect can be dipped in a differant color than the body, and give a very decent illusion in the center of the bait.

Bear makes VERY GOOD MOLDS.

Pull out a ruler and see if it's a sized bait you want to throw, and if it meets your satifaction, order the mold.

Bear don't make a trashy mold.

I've looked at that particular mold myself...it's on my hit list as soon as I get my wife a new car..."f"ing priorities.

Rule #1. Happy wife = Happy life....I hear ya...The hollow body swimbait thing is something I have been wanting to get into, but I look at and what it would take to turn a $ or 2. I just cant justify to myself investing in a bunch of single cav molds to get a two color injection bait...The dipping thing looks really cool and I am sure the variations are numerous...Time equals money and I cant do the dipping thing plus the painting etc etc....

I am looking for a 4.5 swimbait that injects either hollow or solid w/hook slot...doesnt matter...that will do laminates...

Side injection/ not so good on the laminate

End injection/ good on the laminate

I had mine machined from side to end injection and it helped a lot.

You just have to make you get your temps right. Within 10 degrees of each other. Inject slowly.  If you get one hotter than the other you will get a mottled mix.
