lure_learning
Does anyone know if it's possible to dye living rubber? I'd like to dye some white living rubber into black. Thanks!
smalljaw
This subject has come up from time to time and I once contacted living rubber to find out and the answer is no, it isn't possible to dye living rubber. For as long as it has been around they only now came out with a print color called "retile rubber" which is just rubber with a pattern but the rubber you have I'm sorry to say but you're stuck with the color it is. smalljaw
Well that's too bad. Thanks for the reply. Get yourself the new printed rubber that just came out, it looks pretty good or if you want the action of rubber without all the problems go to LPO and check out the Bio-Silk skirt material, it is silicone that feels like and acts like rubber in the water but doesn't melt or clump together like rubber. The only living rubber I use is for larger accent strands on silicone skirts, the rubber was just to hard to deal with every year and the silicone has been great so I prefer that. Oldfart9999
Tie the rubber as the main color and use silicone for accent. Rubber moves when at rest silicone doesn't. Rodney
