Question About Soft Plastic Bait Molds

Recommended Posts

Not sure I understand your question but if you want to know about the resin I bought mine at Pepboys it a 2 part resin for boat building and auto body work, it is not the Bondo that you use to fill dents, that has some type of filler this Bondo looks like dark honey as seen in his video. The gasket maker is also and automotive product and also can find it at Pepboys.

Yes as long as its not body filler, and my disclaimer before I'm jumped here on the subject is I don't know if body filler will work it may but my experience with filler back in the day it was to thick but the formula may have changed. For purposes of your question he is using 3M bondo version 402ES I found version 402 and believe it is the same, on 3M's website I searched 402ES and did not get a hit but if you read the MSDS sheet PDF for 402 it covers like 15 types of 402??? so I think they are basically the same.

Just so it says polyester resin on the can your ok. Why I hate people using brand names such as Bondo. Bondo has all kinda different products, can get confusing. Just like Fiberglass Resin, there is Polyester which is what your looking for, but there is Polyvinylester resin, Epoxy resins, ect that are used for Fiberglass applications. I should note, there is also a purple tinted Polyester resin which is sometimes used to lay fiberglass over aluminum, you want the amber coloured one.
