gone2long Posted November 10, 2013 Report Share Posted November 10, 2013 Yeah flake and glitter are one in the same but you will find several variants such as hex, square, string to name a few then you will need to determine size as there are 4 to 5 sizes as well. You can shoot any strength plastic in your tube mold but they may take different approaches soft likes to flash in the spline with too much pressure. For the most part a .035 or .040 flake/glitter will take less than a .015 to get a similar color appearance, but the .015 will give a much nicer hint of color or suggestion like in salt shad (silver) or salt bass (gold) stick worm or in the belly of a shad pattern bait. And the big stuff like ,125 hex makes an excellent black for a match the hatch crappie or trout pattern bait. Yes, flake and glitter are the same thing if you are buying it from bait making suppliers. I woud add that the fine glitter seems to work better in really small baits like 1.5 curly grubs.
