Hi all, I just wanted to say hi and say how much of a great forum you guys have here. with some of the reading i have been doing in this forum you have answered some of the questons that i had when doing my own lures. I live in Australia From tasmania where the trout fishing is spot on and people come from all over the world to catch our wild brown trout. I started making my own balsa lures about eight years ago and only made about 20, i caught plenty of trout on my lures but ran into a few troubles with paints and top coats. some lures would be fine but others not so good :nono:  But now with the help from your forums i have started again and fingers crossed all the problems i used to have are a thing of the past

I will try and add a couple of photos of some lures i have just finished. No where as good as some of the lures i have seen on here but its all a learning thing

So i just wanted to say hi and thankyou for this great forum, cheers Adam.

G'day , Adam ,

Welcome to the TackleUnderground , ....I see , that you obviously use rattlecans and brush painting to color your lures , very nice ones these are  , I like the detailed painting of mouth , gills and eyes .

Though I've never been to DownUnder , I'm just a little bit familiar to Tasmanian trout fishing , at least regarding the lures being used .

From what I've seen on another site , it looks like the Brownies over there really love such lures in those particular color patterns , seen quite a few made by other carvers for the same purpose .

Hope , you'd enjoy yourself in here , ...cheers , diemai :yay:

Adam,

Welcome...I just started here at TU a few weeks ago myself. There are many great guys here with help abound. I really like your paint work just as deimai mentioned. I have been making lures for about three years now, and just finished my 65th one....but, since coming on the site, I realize how much I can improve or just developed new techniques. Anyways welcome, I hope you post more pictures of your lures.

As they say around here....tight lines.

Ryan

Adam . You are an oldhand with the lures you make for sure . Good job mate . I also come from tassie . In the derwent valley. If your interested you might want to catch up and compare notes and ideas . Myself and a few others have a small home made lure comp every year up at lake pedder .You might be intersted in that too . Send me another pm if intersted .. Good lures too by the looks of them .

Cheers Mate FLASH
