Clear Plastic

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to pour some clear worms. However I seem to be having some yellowing issues. I'm using caney creek crystal clear regular and as I heat it it turns to a yellowish orange similar to a motor oil type color. Is there a way avoid this and keep the plastic clear?

I know nothing about Caney Creek plastic, but most plastics will yellow over time with high heat, re-heats, etc.  Assuming you are not overheating or burning your plastic, add some heat stabilizer and you should be fine.  Most companies who make/sell the plastic also offer heat stabilizer.  Remember that a little goes a long way when adding that stuff.  About 1 ounce per gallon of plastic should be fine.

Good luck!

The heat stabilizer fixed my problem. I borrowed some from a buddy that pours and it worked as expected. Thanks.

OK. Here's the deal. I just spent time deleting childish posts that were totally unnecessary.

Take your bickering somewhere else. Warning points are being given right now. Further foolishness will lead to temporary suspensions. If that doesn't fix things, permanent bans will be put in place.
