Best Plastisol Injector?

Recommended Posts

Yes they are all standard.

They all have their pros and cons, I have Bears and baitjunkys so thats all I can comment on.

Both are good, the baitjunkies is more solid and better build, with a locking tip.

But converstly the bears is light and sometimes I find it can be better suited to what I'm pouring, so I use both.

The big downside to the bears is the tip pops off, ie isn't locked on, so its very easy to pop the tip off into the hot plastic, obviously over time you learn when its about to happen, but usually it catches me when there is a lump in the cup that gets sucked up and you go to purge the plastic.

I prefer a thin wall injector like Do-it and Bears. They heat up fast and keep the plastic hot longer.

Downside is the tip can come off, but once you use it a bit it wont happen anymore.

Basstackle and Baitjunkys are very well made and have locking tips. I find them heavy and clunky.

First two are like a sports car and second two like a luxury sedan.

I have a 4 oz bear and a bait junkys pro lam 7 oz . The bears is ok but the tip thing is a pia . I have been shooting for a few years and it still gets me! The bait junkies is heavier but is better made and smoother to shot. If it's a 4 oz quickly batch I would use the bears, if shooting more I use the Bjs .If I had to do it over again I would have bought the bait junkys first .

Put in a set screw. If you use a wing nut screw, it's easy to remove and reinstall.  Just mark the injector and nozzle, so they line up when you reassemble them, and the screw holes will line up.

This is a vid I just made showing how I use a Bears or Do-it style injector.

Suck up plastic
Turn upside down and burp any air out
Inject slow and steady (every mold is different)
Top off
remove plastic from nozzle with glove
hold nozzle with glove and squirt excess plastic back in cup

I never lose the tip amd never get burned.

Dont mind the mess

I got my injector from Baitjunkys a few days ago and it

is badass. It is the first injector I ever used and it

worked perfectly the first time. The other cool thing was

that they sent me two lollipops with my order. If anyone

wanted to buy a injector I would recommend that one.

I've used a Del's, and own several different injectors, and I made several of my own in larger sizes before Bass Tackle came out with their big 10oz because I had made some molds none of the injectors I had would fill.  That being said, they all pretty much work ok, but I would favor Bait Junky's or Bass Tackle over the rest for just plain fit and feel with maybe a tiny smidgeon in favor of Bait Junky's.  Yes, even over the ones I made myself.

That being said, you probably should have ordered one from Bass Tackle at the same time you ordered your mold to save a couple dollars on shipping.

I have a Bass Tackle twinjector and it works just fine.  If the plastic is right I sometimes laminate molds with 20+ cavities with it.  I am not kidding.  Even if I am off a little only the last one or two out of all those cavities gets blurry.  That being said if Leo hadn't come out with a laminating system with a handle I was going to make a laminating block with a handle myself.  I think the Bait Junky's system with the big handle would be a big plus for ease of use.
