BowfinBoy95
i saw this stuff in janns netcraft called plastidip. is it good for use as a clearcoat for lures? says its rubbery..dunno if thats a good thing or not. and i see alot of products meant for rod building that provide one step clearcoats..seems easier than mixin up epoxy. how are these in terms of durability and water resistance. another thing..i cant even find devcon stuff in my area..its irritating. any other brands of epoxy that work just as well??? SeminoleFan
plastidip is used to put a non-slip grip on tools like plier's. It wouldnt work for a top coat over a bait. JMHO. I have used the Loctite brand of 30 minute epoxy from Lowe's Or HomeDepot. It works about the same, except its a little more expensive. Nathan
Actually...you can use it as a top coat..(get the clear)..but you'll have a matt finish on it,with a rubbery feel to it.I've only used it on larger lures because it adds some weight to them.Rustolem make a similiar product, but in spray form..Nathan
BowfinBoy95
i was actually contemplating using rustoleum spray on laquer finish instead of epoxy. ya think it will suffice? i dont think its the same as the rubbery spray on rustoleum stuff.but i could be wrong. Nathan
These are two different products....That will give you some protection, but not near as much as a epoxy product..Nathan
