Lurehead03
Ok Guys I been doing divers awhile thought I'd try a swimbait this a rough example of what I'm after what do ya'll think. And question for those that do swimbaits do you top coat tail and head separately
kellure
Looks good to me. Nice job around the head and mouth. Look forward to the end product.
RiverMan
Does it swim lurehead? Nothing worse than putting in all that effort only to find the darn thing won't swim! I have only built one jointed bait in my life but it seems to be that top-coating the pieces seperately will ensure they are sealed properly. Nathan
Looks great...On a bait like that,I'd seperate them, and top coat seperatley. That way you have access to all the nooks and crannys..Nathan
woodsac
Seperate :!: I learned the hard way. Especially with 2 joints. It's not that hard to get the clear coat on all the parts before it starts to cure. The hard part is turning the bait. Even if you are turning by hand and not a drying wheel. The hardest part is keeping the body segments from touching each other. If they do happen to touch before it's completely cured, it's a big problem fixing it because you have limited access in between the joints.
