Elken
I am pouring lots of drop shot sinkers. I currently use an old Hot Pot to pour with. It is hard to pour cleanly if the pot is too full and since you are pouring from the top you have to keep the dross cleared off the surface. How much better are the bigger bottom pour pots? Do they ever get plugged up and if so, how do you clear it? Do the bottom pour pots work better with lead alloys since they have temperature controls? jigmaster
Good afternoon I use two different lee bottom pots.......the 10 lb and the 20. They have different spout systems......I really liked the 20, because I can put bigger chunks of lead in it.......but the darn thing leaks like a sieve......my 10 lb pot still sees the most action. They tend to plug when you use dirty lead.......does not take much to obstruct the lead flow......so if possible, stay away from dirty lead......use soft clean lead, and you will be fine. If they do get plugged........stick a round toothpick up the spout GENTLY......it will typically push back up the crud that is blocking.
