In Line Spinners

Recommended Posts

i haven't made spinners in years but i used to attach the hook to the wire.but now on my store purchased spinners i like to replace the hook and use split rings.the only reason being is that the fish seem to be able to toss spinners pretty easy.but the ring gives it extra play to avoid that.in my opinion.

I use the pre bent inline spinner wire and put the hook directly in the bottom loop then slide the body parts down the wire to close off the bottom loop. No split ring. I think the split ring sets the hook back a little too far.

One thing I do though is make my tie off loop with a black barrel swivel in the loop.

I have made and still do inlines for years. I have tried both ways. There is no difference in hits with a split ring or without as long as the split ring is a very small one. With the split ring you have the option of replacing the hook with a feathered hook or soft plastic, or a colored hook or just a new hook. Without if the hook breaks, youll need to cut it off and use a split ring anyway. Good luck BP
