I think that it depends on what type of cover the jigs are fished in: the 0.024 stiffer weedguards for trees and brush and the lighter 0.018 weedguards for light weed and grass. 0.021 for all-around fishing? I made some Poison Tail jigs with the 0.018 weedguards; I had a couple people that really liked the lighter fibers and a couple that said they didn't like them because they were too light for fishing in the trees.
