yankee jigger
Bought some Daiichi red hooks #4633 for do-its live bait jig mold and the shank for the eye is too short. Who makes a good red hook, same as a size 571 eagle claw?????
B&D Custom Lures
Jigger, You can use the Spike-It blade dip and use a nickel hook that fits your mold. For best results after dipping bake in the oven at 350 for 10mins and the coating will be stronger than the factory finish. yankee jigger
Thanks bud.Can i use gold or bronze hooks??????
cadman
Yankee Jigger, I will second B&D's reply. Ever since I been using Spike-It for hooks, I've never gone back to buying red hooks again. Sorry to hi-jack your post B&D. I like the gold plated over the broze for color better. I don't know if Mustad makes a Nickle for that style of hook. Bright nickle would be my first choice as bright nickle shows off the red real well. However both will cover. Also Mustad and Eagle Claw make hooks for that mold. B&D Custom Lures
No harm done.It holds up so much better.I've used it on Black nickel also with good results. But Bright Nickel is the best
