  1. Don't know if you got this fixed or not? But I am with bear on this. I would drill a small hole say .015" in the feet. It will flow much better. just make sure to face the holes in a safe direction the first time to see how it vents. And you will have to poke the plastic out cause it will break off sometimes. I made a swim bait mold that had tail fill problems, and I drilled the tail. Worked perfect!
  2. I wash all my aluminum molds with plain old dawn dish soap. just get some warm water and scrub it with a stiff plastic brush.rinse well when done and DRY COMPLETELY!! I also blow the mold off with the compressor before the first use.As for the hinges. WD works good and so does silicone. I only wash them if they are new or something spills on them.
  3. Caney creek has stabilizer. It's a little more expensive, but it is clear. Makes a difference if you are making transperent baits or light colors. Just my opinion.

    My baits

Some ice jigs for gills and perch. #12 vmc hooks, 1.75 grams .65" long! should be killer!
  5. I would try putting drops of heated plastic in the mold before you shoot it.
  6. Yeah I've seen some of the integerx in action, but never had a chance to use one. Went ot a tool show last year and they had a great demo using the mills and lathes. Pretty cool stuff! The graphics for tool path are sweet.
  7. Salt for sure. Its cheap and easy to find!
  8. Great topic! I do a bit of custom mold making, mostly for myself. All of it is done on the shop floor at the machine. From my own pencil/ graph paper drawings. I have access to 2 sweet mazak vtc's. That makes things easier using the mazatrol programing. But there is a lot of manual programing to figure out too. Anyone else using mazaks?
  9. I use a sharpie then tape over it with clear packing tape . Works good for me!
  10. I use viton high temp seals in my injectors.Had the same problem too. the black orings were not holding up to the temps of the plastic, causing them to bleed into my baits. Viton is good to around 450F. Just my experience with this issue.
  11. I use the chemionics medium. I just shake the bottle for a bit and pour it in my pyrex. cook for 1 min intervals, and stir .

These are ribbed on one side and smooth on the other. Can't wait to get some open water so I can try them out!
