Here's my little lure dryer building process. Let me know if you have any questions. Should be pretty straight forward. Enjoy!

    4oz Bottom Bouncer Molds

Here is a cheaper solution for you instead of going to a machinist. Go get a do-it in line trolling sinker mold. (See links below). Take the mold and drill a hole at the top of the mold into the eyelet and a hole at the bottom into the eyelet. Now you will have a thru hole from top to bottom. Cut what ever wire length you need, put a kink in the wire that will sit in the mold cavity. This will keep the sinker from moving up and down. Fill your mold cavity with lead. Once done you can twist an eyelet at the top of your wire for the main line, and at the tag end make a loop to accept a snap swivel. You should be good to go. It's not complicated, just figure out what size wire you want, as 4 oz is heavy and will bend most stainless steel wire. You may need a .050 or .060 wire. If you need more help just PM me and I will help you out. https://store.do-itmolds.com/In-Line-Trolling-SinkerbrSz-2-3-4_p_670.html https://store.do-itmolds.com/In-Line-Trolling-SinkerbrSz-3-4-5_p_671.html PS: The inline sinkers are the same in shape as your bottom bouncer weights. All you have to do to the in-line sinker is adapt a wireform to go thru the cavity.

    KBS too thin?

I recently decided to try KBS for the first time after primarily using Dick Nites, I dip mostly but have brushed a few jointed baits that I've done. I have to say I'm not overly impressed with the KBS. I think DN gets harder and over all is a slicker finish. I understand that the major draw to KBS is that it's easier to store but using bloxygen and sealing my dipping jars I would lose very little DN, thanks to the tips I gathered here from guys like Bob P amongst others. To me the superior finish of DN outweighs the loss of DN.

    Patent on Delta Blades?

IF you have the patent number, you can search it out and see if it is sill effective. Lots of patents still get stamped that are no longer valid. Just like Patent Applied is stamped to discourage people from making copies, even if the item is not patentable.

    4oz Bottom Bouncer Molds

If your Saltwater fishing, try Do-it heavy hook models. They have a few that do 4oz. plus. One will do 20oz with a 12/0 hook.

    Ac1315

Just thought I'd post about this. So around this time last year or so I was playing around with ac1315. Maybe later than that. I never liked it because i felt it didnt cure good. All those baits I painted got thrown in a tackle box and forgot about until the other day. Needless to say, they are all rock solid. I feel it's as solid as KBS, if not more. I dont know how long it took em, but if your like me and forget about it, you'll have some pretty solid baits in a year. Wishing I hadn't chucked the can now. Might require more playing around with now.

    4oz Bottom Bouncer Molds

My dad and I are searching for a 4 oz bottom bouncer mold to no avail. We have found the three models from Do-It and talked to them on the phone, however they only go up to 3 oz. I'm positive that a 4 oz would work better for our fishing, but am having the damndest time finding one. It was recommended I seek out Hilts, but am coming up empty there too, so thought maybe I could get some feedback from this forum to see if anyone else has knowledge of that big of a bottom bouncer mold, aside from taking a blank and finding a local C&C shop to bore it out. Has anyone here ever come across a 4oz mold? Thanks for your time, if anyone could give me feedback either way.

    Glitter for Electric Shad

Hi folks! I wonder if anyone here knows what belly side glitter is used in Bass Assassin's and Keitech's Electric Shad? It looks like some kind of an iridescent color, but I haven't been able to identify it. Would very much appreciate the help!

    Painting plastics

I've found that the SpikIt dye markers I use on my soft plastics don't bleed, at least for me. http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Lure-Dyes/

    Painting plastics

It depends by permanent marker: if you use a oil based marker, then it will work to bleed inside soft plastic, instead if you will use an alcohol based marker, as a Copic one, then it will rest on the surface. Moreover Copic markers and similars can be air brushed, for instance I use the Spritzer pump with success. Bye Cami

    Patent on Delta Blades?

Anglinarcher, I don't know if there are knockoffs of that style. And the patent number is stamped on all of the delta blades. The off-set style which the wire stays on one side doesn't have a patent that I know of. The War Eagle buzzbait has the off-set style blade. Battlefield Wire used to make the delta blade and they were about 5 miles from where I formerly lived. Was in their shop several times and they said they had stamped enough blades over the years to cover the bottom of the great lakes, lol. I believe Worth bought their tooling and patent.

Forgot to say I had to wipe the exuding oil off the baits with alcohol before I glue. It helped a little

Soft Bait Glue - PVC Cement

my concern with these glues is which glue does not melt the plastic? when I use super glue to glue down my baits to make molds, the glue rots the bait.

Do you have a price range you are looking at? There are a lot of good benders out there, let alone those that do it with nothing but a set of the round pliers.

  27. I found out by mistake that the Diamond finish in the aerosol can is a flat finish. I thought that I was doing something wrong so I looked it up on their web site. "If a flat finish is what you are after. Use the aerosol"

    Patent on Delta Blades?

Patents only last so long and the Delta blades have been out for at least 40 years that I know of. Knock offs of that blade and lures made with that blade are everywhere. Was there one, probably. Is there a current one, I doubt it very strongly.
