Blue Tilapia

First try at a blue tilapia. The blue didn't turn out quite dark enough. I'm still having trouble mixing paint. When it's in the bottle it looks really close to what I'm looking for. Then when it's sprayed it looks completely different than it does in the bottle. Will definitely be trying this one again.

Ben,

that looks mighty good to me! If a color doesn't quite suit me, I'll modify it on the lure, usually on the fly by spraying something on top of it, or sometimes adding a lighter or darker transparent color (a drop at a time) to the paint in the cup and stirring it...that color blue there would be nicely complimented with a little silver down the back, and I might add a little Parma Faschange Blue or Purple on top of it too. Parma and Createx are both pups from the same litter, so no problems. Don't be afraid throw more colors on one, just take your time, and spray lightly, and after all, what's the worst that can happen?

Thanks Dean. Hadn't really thought about modifying the colors once it's "finished". And like you said a while back, the baits don't have to be exact photo copies of a bait fish to work. Have seen a friend catch bass on a solid pink spinnerbait and can't think of a thing it resembles.
