Went outside today about 1pm and it was only 78 degrees. August in Texas and it's only 78 degrees? I'm scared.
Been down into the upper 90's the last couple days. Think I'm getting a chill. May have to put on a sweater.
Seems like stupidity knows no bounds these days. The local power company wants me to sign up for one of their apps so I can be notified when the power goes off. It's been well over 100 degrees lately and the house immediately starts getting warm the instant the a/c goes off. Not to mention the glaringly obvious darkness when the lights don't come on at the flick of a switch. Even if the power went out while I was away from home what am I going to do about it? Call the power company?
Well, things are returning to normal around here. The lakes headed back to more traditional levels for this time of year and it's finally gotten to be summertime. As a friend of mine used to put it "When you walk outside it smells like a woman ironing". (for those of you old enough to remember that)
Rayburn has been over 9' high for several weeks now and man are the fish scattered. There are fish everywhere from 20' deep to so shallow they need sunscreen.
Are you fishing or just randomly casting around?
There have been 6 sharelunker bass turned over to the hatchery this year and 4 of them have died.I'm not so sure the sharelunker program is doing as much good as first thought. Maybe they should be putting that money into stocking pure Florida strain bass in our lakes and stop all the stress put on those giants by hauling them all the way to the hatchery in Athens.
Got to go fishing the other day and I think it was the first time I ever "batted a 1000". Had 1 hit......caught 1 bass. Like they say, "The fishing was great, but the catching was tough." It was a great day to be on the lake though.
There was one over 13 and another over 14 caught on Sam Rayburn March 7'th. The 13 was caught during a tournament and it was the only fish the guy caught, but he did win big bass. There was another over 12 caught that same weekend. Guess I should have been fishing instead of working on baits.
The temps here in East Texas have been up and down more times than a Duncan Yo-Yo this year and it's driving the bass nuts.
