Finished a new jerkbait

Recommended Posts

I finished this one last night.

Tried a different, soft colour, scheme on it and I think it turned out nice.

The bait is made out of beech, 6" and weighs 65gr incl hardware shown in the pic. The action is slow sinking and gliding.

The clearcoat is (1 part) polyurethane and turned out well. Nice to work with the urethane (except on foilbaits :teef:), it cures fast (2 hours) and leaves a very nice coat after 4 dips. Hope you like it.

Thanks for the kind words!

The fins are done with a stencil I cut out.

What I do is next:

I copy the bait to white paper, then I draw in the fins etc.

I put the paper on a glass plate and put a transparent stencil over it.

Then I can cut out the fins and gills with a sharp knife with the bait's lay out beneath.

@saltydog

I don't mind you copying that scheme, I don't own the rights :wink:
