Tom,

Those look super for first time and with a cheap air brush. When your new brush arrives you are going to have sooooo much fun. I look forward to seeing the results. Great work and good luck on the next batch.

They look great, can't wait to get me an airbrush.I'm still using the old rattle cans...Robert

yea, i saw the bluegill and cute shad baits, really nice for a rattle can, i know id have more on my fingers than the bait if i tried that, let alone making them look good...

I went with the Harbor Freight equipment. I tried a really cheap one and it wouldn't spray. But they had a all metal model for $20 that works pretty good for a newbie. I already had a small sprayer compressor so I picked up a filter and hose and I'm in business. To make it easier, I got a foot pedal to turn the compressor on/off.

I'm practicing on a repaint, but I ordered some crankbait blanks from NetCraft.

I've really enjoyed the photos for reference and the tutorials in this forum. Really got me jumpstarted.

I think you have done great work, scales and all. After a coat of two of a deep clear, they will look even better.

You should consider hand painting the gills etc for now, or make stensils for the airbrush. Protect the paint job with a thin fast drying clear first. Then you can have several goes without having to start from scratch. This is a tip I have read here several times, but worth mentioning again.
