why would a snap make a difference in tuning

Recommended Posts

do the snaps youre usin have a rounded shank, or the offset "v" type shank?

If the latter, it could be that the momentum holds the line eye down to the bottom of the "v" possibly making for a more controlled action.

I'm more of a straight "line-2-eye" type a guy myself, so take it w/ a grain of salt.

is the action really that much different?, must be a pretty finiky design :) you usin urethane plastic?

Have been using a snap with a rounded loop...duo-lock type. Have tried regular split rings and the oval rings from BPS. Not a huge problem, maybe 1-2 out of 10 baits would be hard to tune if using the rings vs maybe 1 out of 10 with the snap. Might be just one of those things, little buggers catch fish at least.
