How do I get those bright golden shiney sides

Recommended Posts

Hi Dman,

Most guys here use metal foil on their lures for silver / chrome look. Try Duct Tape brand metal repair tape available in home repair. Aluminum foil & candy foils also work.

Once you've got the foil on clear coat it with epoxy then airbrush the lure. Seal the paint job with a second coat of epoxy.

Tight Lines,

Shawn

Another way too get a incredible finish is too use Gold or silver glitter.(I learned this one from Coley)I finish my bait..(sanding,sealer..etc)and put a coat of white paint on.When dry, spray the sides with some 3m or similiar spray on adhesive. Now hold the lure over a piece of paper (so you can catch the unused glitter) and pour "fine" gold over silver glitter over the sides of the bait.Lightly pat the glitter in place, and let dry. After drying, brush off any loose glitter, and top coat the lure. When dry, paint the top,and belly of the lure, and put on another coat of epoxy.

I guarantee that will be the brightest finish you'll ever see....Nathan
