question about painting

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am painting lead lures. I have used the vinyl paints , but dipped them. I have an airbrush now. I have read that airbrushing this stuff is tuff. I use a base coat of white, then then color and then the clear. I use the spray vinyl in a can for some colors, but it is 10.00 bucks a can. I would like to get a little more detail. Can I use the water base white for a base coat, and what type of clear can I use in the air brush. Now these are not fancy crank baits or anything. any help would be great. Thanks

I also paint my spinnerbaits with an airbrush.I use just plain old Createx acrylics and clear coat with a 2-part resin.Make sure the clear has UV protectants or they will yellow on you.I have also tried clearing w/2 part epoxy (thinned).I found out that for me the longer setting time works best for it not to yellow .....................Good Luck
