  2. Painter1, I remembered this post from awhile back from Ghostbaits and have not tried it yet but this may help you with small batches: " I know a lot of guys are dipping frogs, swims, etc. Thought I would post up a little something I came up with to help me. Worse thing to me was that my plastic got cold real fast. I tried a multitude of things to insulate my cups with little success. Then, as I was discussing mold properties with a buddy, something hit me. (No not my wife...LOL!!) While aluminum sucks the heat away, plaster of paris (pop) insulates or traps the heat. I decided to make an insulated "cup" for my pyrex cup. Something I could put the cup in and have it hold the heat but also allow me to remove the cup to nuke again when the plastic does cool. Now this still isn't the best solution but it does help retain the heat in your cup longer. Basically, I took a 1 gallon milk jug, cut the bottom third off and set my 2 cup pyrex cup inside that piece. Then, I made up a big batch of pop. I poured the pop around my cup slowly until the cup rose up about 2 inches off of the jug bottom. Then I found a few random things to place in the cup to weight it and added the rest of the pop around the sides. Without weight inside the pyrex cup, it would raise up in the pop and be molded. Let harden and remove your cup. Let stand for pop to dry. This takes days. No need to seal the inside... The result is a mold of your cup. A glove to insulate the cup and a way that you still can just pick up the cup and put it right back into the microwave for further heating. I will have to re-take pics as it looks like I deleted all of them. Jim PS If your plastic starts yellowing, add a drop of M-F's iradescent pearl or a 1/2 drop of white (to 8oz plastic or more) and that will help take the yellowing away on the resulting baits."

  3. Bears 5" is the right thickness but only 4 7/8" long Bears 5.25" is right length but too skinny. Del's 5.25 is exact as real Senko but GL finding one I have not seen the BT 5.5" fat but I bet that would work well. Dels shoots most consistant and perfect baits every time. Salt is a thing of the past so use Caney Creek HD additive. 1.5 tbspn per 4 oz plastic to match real Senko softness and sink rate but much more durable. ...Bill

  4. I use a hot plate you can get one at the dollar stores for around $10.00. Pull the plunger back and lay it on the hot plate. My tip is about 3/16" keeping the injector warm will help you out.Squirt out what you have left after you inject, wipe the tip off pull the injector back and forth and blow out any waste mine will blow out a 1/2" wad. Pull the plunger back and lay on hot plate. Pull the plunger back will keep the oring from getting too hot. Don't turn hot plate up to high, injector just needs to be warm. A couple drops of worm oil in injector helps lube it. Cub48

  5. I received a small tube of Solarez "thin hard coat" and slapped it on a couple of baits. If this is durable this could be the best yet (a bit pricey though at about $20 for 2 oz. No waste and cures in 2 minutes. Here is what it looks like

  6. Ok, Im back on the D2t again. Did this one with it and just love the way it shines and I never really have a problem with applying it, the only thing with it is the humidity here, It always seems to be 100% and the epoxy lets you know it.
