  1. 2 1/2 inches.... Hand carved with a pocket knife and sand paper....brush painted, Flexcoat topcoat....19 guage SS wire-thru, copper spinner as diving lip. RT63, I like how it turned out, but it's not mine anymore...It was made for a trade with another TU member. The honor is mine, as he is a fine lure-maker.

  2. As usual, Bob is on target. There are tons of unpainted knockoffs as options, but, being lipless might be the end of the similarities to the Strike King. I'm sure other designs will catch fish in your area with your same technique. Just pick some and give it a try. I'd do like Bob mentioned, tho....find some Redeyes at the cheapest price and paint 'em like ya want. Good luck.

  3. Rich I too have the Eclipse and I also have 2 other brushes the NEO with a .35 tip/needle and a Talon with a .38 tip/needle and can tell you that there is something very different in the eclipse because your right I can spray almost all my different paints without reducing in the Eclipse but have fits if it's not reduced just right with the other two so there must be something in the design of the Eclipse because they go out of their way to explain that it sprays heavier paint without reducing. And Muskie yes several coats heat set between each is recommended, a good test to see if you broke the paint is to spray on a test panel and see if you are getting "spidering" I suggest you do a youtube search on the subject there is one out there that gives a very good in-depth discussion on the subject.

  4. What kind of brush are you using and what size nozzle does it have? I use an Iwata Eclipse (gravity feed) and don't have to thin anything except Createx white and white pearl. i do not buy these any longer but use Polytranspar Super Hide for white and also their white pearl which do not need thinning. You can also use Auto Air white metallic for white pearl. I have a .035 tip....just what works for me and I've tried all the thinners.

  5. There is a local Christmas Craft show near me in a historic town called Zoar. Normally, you have to apply for the show a year in advance, and it is a juried show. A committee decides of your craft is worthy of their show and you may or may not get in. I made a call a couple of weeks ago. I sent pictures of my lures. The thing that REALLY caught their eye is they have NEVER seen hand made fishing lures at any other craft show EVER! They let me in. The show dates are December 7th and 8th. There are about 10,000 people come to the show over the 2 day weekend. Not as large of attendance as I have seen with some of the other crafts I have done show with, but these people come to buy! Mostly looking for Christmas presents. I hope there are lots of women there looking for an unusual gift for their "fisherman husband". I am hoping to do well, I guess we will see!
