  1. Thanks JDEE, I looked them up and they look like they should be not too hard to build Nathan THAT'S AN AWESOME LURE!!!!! It really is OUT OF THE BOX THINKING I'm thinking about the "Barrel Roll" that they do when you get them close ...That seems to be where they get hit 5-10' from the boat I troll more than I cast... I have A.S (Really bad Arthritis) So only a few casts and my upper body is hammered to a pulp That was the reason for changing speeds to get the Lure to roll I was also wondering about a rubber/plastic tail or an angle mounted dorsal fin, so it would "pull" to one side or the other depending on what side of the boat your fishing...Sounds stupid but I mostly river fish and can run 2 rods It seems that maybe I just want to build an Ill handling lure on purpose

  4. I'm a custom jig maker, and have been doing it for over 10 years. I can tell you that with the advent of the internet, there are more custom jig makers now then ever. I think because there is so much info available to people, and many of them think that it is cheaper to make them than to buy. However on a small scale it is not, if you are going to invest money into it and do this through the good times and the bad, then you will make some money. Let's face it we won't quit our full time job. I know guys that are selling custom jigs complete for $2.00 a jig. Lot of these guys are in the southern states, and I believe the labor wage is lower so they can sell it for less. Also there are a lot of jigs that are just plain crap. It all depends on what you want. If you want something special that you cannot find in a store, the custom guys are there to help. I make jigs because it is a passion for me more than a business. I love doing it and it challenges me to be really creative. Also all said and done, I can make some gas money for the boat, and most of all, I can get so much information from other guys that fish.

  5. I do. They are pretty simple to make. I buy the smallest rubber grommet that ace hardware carries. I use really small o rings as skirt bands. Put the skirt and o ring on the skirt tool. Then slip it off the tool onto the grommet. I slip a rivot into the center hole of the grommet. If im really bored i powder paint the rivot.

  7. Losing this one in the rocks will kill me! Hand carved. Rattle can black (undercoat) green, red and gold. Dots with a paint pen. It has more of a metallic look in person. Clear acrylic topcoat. No D2T available here.
