  1. Bubonic Customs paints blanks for a living and has only been doing it for maybe 5 ish years? I don't know what his secret is but feel free to ask him and he has since QUIT his day job I basically agree with everyone else though, my start up costs just on the HOBBY level were well over $2,000 for all the materials just to paint blanks, not including the jigs I decided to get into and everything else. Even selling 30+ lures a month I'm not truly making a profit because I end up dumping 90% of that money back into supplies.

  3. Indeed. If my first, crude hand pours caught fish any of the baits in the essential line will do the same.

  5. Rickimaro you think you can make the numbers of lures to make a living at this? Didn't you say you were 16? I got 9 cnc machines in my shop and I'm the largest fishing lure kit mfg in the world.... I ain't drivin a new car, I don't have a Lear jet and my kid gets partial assistance to go to college. I have 13 years of busting ass in this business. I live in a modest house, most of my stuff is paid for...still got a truck payment out of 3 vehicles in my driveway. It costs me $3200 a month BEFORE I make a single lure. Do you have any idea how many lures it takes to MAKE $3200 in profit just to pay the rent? It ain't what you think kid. I'll go back to what I said before when you told me not to plan your life....Give it a few years then once you got a little more hair on ya sack go and revisit if you still think you want to start a business. Just do it on the up and up. I'm sure your mum and dad don't want their house attached by the irs because you got caught cheating under the table.

  6. I do not agree with the comment 'it has all been done before'. Far from it I would say. Protecting your idea is a difficult and almost futile event. A patent will be necessary if you intend to sell to a larger company. I am currently working in China. Here, copying is normal, accepted business practice. The just look at me in bewilderment when I have a rant on the subject. If you invent a new idea that is popular and successful, it WILL get copied. I wish you lots of success. DAve

  7. "Decide how much you want to pay yourself." This shouldn't be too hard to figger. Anything left over (if any) after all deductions are met......is yours. This amount comes in two colors................red and black.
