  1. The blast media I use is pure glass beads, and has no salt. I add a tablespoon of salt for flavor to a 1 cup plastic/1/2 cup bead mixture. I also add 1/2 teaspoon of heat stabilizer, and 1 teaspoon of softener. http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-LBS-Glass-Bead-Medium-Grit-MIL-SPEC-8-70-100-grit-Sand-Blasting-Abrasive-/111672165459?hash=item1a002e0453:g:VocAAOxydgZTKU6c

  3. Finish: First emboss foil with scale pattern then attach, then color with markers & add 3D eyes. Lastly coat with clear Powder Paint and baked for hard finish.

  4. The way the big manufacturers are making baits with chartreuse tails is with large automated slide bar molds. They block the tail of the cavity off and shoot it (chartreuse in this instance) and open it then shoot the body colour(s) all in one motion. Even in a production setting there is the extra runner so there is added waste. Leonard over at Baitjunkys is producing real slide bar molds for the hand pour guys as well, but be aware they are not cheap as they are made with 1" bar stock instead of the normal 1/2" - 5/8" bar and there is the added machine work for the slide bars.

  7. I have NO problems with the bait keeper falling out if I use the 3-5% antimony lead mix from Rotometals. The antimony makes the lead harder. The difference in weight (due to the density of antimony) is only in the 100ths of an oz . for the small baits! (if my math was correct!) so for all practical purposes, the weight is not affected for small jigs. I also cast all of my small jigs with keepers with this mix (for example the Herring Head) and it makes a big difference. Andy

  9. If you are doing large batches and want to dip, I think it's MCU hands down. Specifically, I'd choose KBS Diamond Coat because it apparently is more resistant to "going off" in the container and can be thinned if/when it begins to thicken.

  10. Anglinarcher, hope your recovery is total and all your pain is resolved. Frankly, I've never lost a blade on my chatterbaits. That said, we look forward to seeing your version.

  11. Patents aren't cheap or easy to obtain. If a company pays to obtain a patent for something, they'd be silly not to defend it.
