  1. If you using clean lead you shouldn't have much of a problem. Lead poisoning comes from ingestion most of the time and the reason is simple. Lead does not produce fumes or vapor below 1200 degrees, if you have any smell it is usually impurities and good ventilation is sufficient to carry out the fumes if you are using good lead. I get most of my lead from Rotometals , 99% pure and 3% -5% antimonial and with 2 windows open and a fan blowing in between to create good air circulation there are no problems. I had a serious illness and since then I have to have my blood checked on a regular basis and one thing I have the doctor check for is the lead levels in my blood, in more than 20 years of pouring I can say that I'm fine but, if you are melting down wheel weights or old lead pipes and other forms of scrap lead well then I'd be outside or I'd have a hood and exhaust fan. It also pays to be cautious and a good exhaust fan and hood is something I think is beneficial if pouring indoors but if you aren't pouring for 6 to 8 hours a day a shop that isn't confined with good ventilation will work as long as you are using clean lead.

  2. I get the hard plastic stick on eyes from Ebay. They are from China. I think 100 are $1 with $.50 shipping https://www.ebay.com/itm/100Pcs-Pack-3-9mm-Fish-Eyes-3D-Holographic-Lure-Eyes-Fly-Tying-Jigs-Crafts-Dolls-/302036731058?var=&hash=item0

  3. What fumes? At pouring temperature any fumes generated stay within fractions of an inch of the surface. As smalljaw said you have to get the lead REALLY hot before there's a problem. Don't lick the lead, don't eat or smoke while casting and you'll be fine. I use a specific mug with a handle to drink out of while casting. It sits away from the pot. The handle keeps my hand away from the drinking surface. I have my lead levels checked yearly and have no problems. One more thing, if you're one of those people that sand or wire brush your lead products WEAR A DAMN MASK.

  6. It probably all depends on whether the ink contains a solvent. If yes, any topcoat also containing a solvent can cause the ink to run, including D2T if you dope it with denatured alcohol, and KBS. As well as Pledge floor polish, you can use a clear acrylic airbrush coating to protect the paint if needed.

  7. Never tried in softner . The only problem I could for see is the balloons are going to want to float on top of softnerlike they do when you heat them up in plastic. To be honest with you when I use them I’ll put them right under my vent hood and wear a respirator just in case if you’re very careful with them you should be ok. I have never had a problem but I have a large vent capable of moving a lot of air.it will pull the air out of my bait shop in a couple of minutes. So I don’t worry so much about it getting air born. Ps anything you can do to limit your exposure to it is a good thing.

  15. Added Brown trout par to the gallery. Some pics showcase the paint, others showcase the foil. Same exposure on all all, just more sun or different angle. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/18324-brown-par-f-14-7jpg/?context=new http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/18323-brown-par-f14-7jpg/?context=new http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/18322-brown-par-f14-6jpg/?context=new http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/18321-brown-par-f-14-5jpg/?context=new http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/18320-brown-f-14-1jpg/?context=newt I really wish we could show 3 pictures in the lure contest.
