  1. Tally, I started here in 2003 as well and Skeeter was my mentor thru the early learning. I spent many hours on the phone with that guy getting grilled on the proper way to build a bait. I still use the same methods today and I do consider myself a custom builder. I'm still hand carving all my baits and can build about 30 different baits from top water to true deep runners. I answer questions on here from time to time but seems most guys now only paint plastic blanks. I hate painting so I have nothing to offer most of the new guys paint better than me.

  2. hi first off. did you seal the wooden body?.. bubbles are normally moisture of to much heat applied to make paints dry.

  3. Thanks for the reply and for the tutorial video. I'll be doing some spoons that way. I'll still have to use the glue on the rounder items.

  4. In the case of non-metals, the hologram foil manufacturer's glue can be used as long as it is suitable.

  5. 1. First use iron to heat the rubber sheet 2. Placement: rubber sheet (high temperature) - Holographic hot stamping foil - Fishing lure - Rubber sheet - Brick 3. Press (time can ask the manufacturer of the foil) Here is the movie I found a similar method, you can start from 1:20

  6. I have worn a respirator with an organic/acid cartridge. Box fan and pour in front of a window works just fine.

  7. right out of the gallon jug straight. do not let it sit in simple green for weeks at a time. Over night, brush and wipe clean. put back together and shoot a little thinner through it and your done. That tip came from Blades and Baits years ago. you will be very happy with the outcome. buzz me if you need help. Tally

  8. Like I mentioned earlier. It's too much resistance on the blade Bending the blade reduces the resistance, Just like putting too big of a spinner blade on a spinnerbait for it's keel/weight. It's going to roll.
