  5. If you heat epoxy in a microwave, do it very slowly and carefully. At some point the resin becomes a thin liquid and it takes a long time to cool it down. I avoid D2T bubbles by adding a few drops of denatured alcohol to the mix before brushing it on with a fine bristle artist brush.

  7. I have a Hagen's and although not cheap. it has performed flawlessly for me. There is also an adaptor you can buy in case you want to use heavier wire.

  8. Smalljaw is correct we need more info, and you need to dial in what you are trying to achieve. There is a lot of info on the i-net. Here is a link I have used in the past. https://www.tacklecrafting.com/baits/wb_size_chart/ There are a lot of other sources out there. Single Colorado, double Colorado etc. BTW welcome to TU.

  9. It'll be awhile because I'm out of town. But I have the silicone mold from Reinke Brothers tackle shop in Wisconsin. The one I have is all the different shapes but they have ones that are all the same shape on one mold. Holds the parts perfectly leaving both hands free for soldering. I hear the brothers are having health problems so they took down their web store. But if you can get one of those molds they are perfect for the task.

  10. Your question is too vague. Are you talking a double Colorado spinnerbait and if so, which blade the clevis or swivel? Are you talking about a single Colorado spinnerbait and if that is the case are you using a bait with a hidden weight? How about wire diameter? It may sound like I'm getting too deep into it but if you are talking about the Colorado blade on a clevis on a tandem bait with a willow on the swivel or even a double Colorado, the difference in size is enormous. Also, a hidden weight spinnerbait head is going to have blade sizes that are smaller than a standard frame and a heavy wire bait can accommodate an oversize blade which some people like to run, especially on 3/4oz and 1oz spinnerbaits. I can help you but you need to be more specific in your question because your current question leads to more questions than answers.

  11. Needle and nozzle are a set and must be used as such. I do believe a .5 needle/nozzle is available for your brush, check Iwatas website.

  12. the post above is sooo true. weighting can kill a lures action...a brief thought for myself would be to go to a smooth-on rigid foam in their 26lb urethane foam..you could adjust weight or more buoyancy with micro-balloons. .

  14. Thanks for all the great advice forum members all, I took my xacto knife, a towel and very carefully began the painful process of trimming off tape and paint without damaging too much of the surface(s). Lesson learned, from now on I will put the lips on after painting (at the least) and maybe after epoxy coating (trial & error). As always, we learn from our mistakes (hopefully) and move forward. It goes without saying, however, that forums like this one save us Newbies years and years of "trial & error" because many of the members have "lived" through these problems before us. I can't say enough about this site!

  15. Is this what you are looking for? I haven't fished with a lot of swim baits but I did a search and found this. There are blanks you paint yourself the third row down on the right called paint it yourself. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/River2Sea_S-Waver/descpage-R2SW.html Seems kind of pricey though but Im assuming that most of the swimbaits are going to be around that price...Hope that is what you are looking for

  16. I built a couple injections machine for soft plastics. 2.5 gallons each. Heat control down to the dagree, agitator, air pressure for controlled flow. Need air compressor. For Hight production 6+ hours a day I would suggest an air pump not a compressor with a tank. CONS: They bleed air at a constant rate. It's a little wasteful with air but it does a great job for a DIY injection machine. No lams but I use a blank plate then inject second color. I probably could make a nozzle but it would never be perfect without using a blank plate. I have no idea what I would sell them for but if anybody's interested I can figure out the cost and then a sale price. Jay
