  1. I guess your one of those who will never quite get it. If I was looking to save money I'd be much better off buying nearly all my tackle. I certainly don't save much if any money making my own. Especially if I place a value on my time spent making them. But I do enjoy the hobby of making tackle. And catching a fish on your own homemade tackle is a pretty awesome feeling. Once you get the hang of these, which doesn't take long, they don't take long at all to make. And there not that difficult. The only ones that frustrate me at all are the ones that were not designed for the mold. Those can be a pain to get lined up correctly. But the standard shapes/sizes are relatively easy and fun to make.

  3. Soutx, If you use Spike it Paint you should be okay. Don't dip the whole plastic or you may loose it in the Spike it . It can eat plastics. If you desire a chartreuse yellow dip the plastic into white Spike it paint let dry and then into yellow chartreuse. It won't show up otherwise. I have been painting the white on with a small brush and it works good. Jimmyjigs

  4. Which Spikeit product did you try? If you use there solvent paint you should be fine. Not the dye type.

  5. I originally got my swivels from Do-It molds. Never had an issue with them. Now if your package says Do-It Molds on it, call them up (Do-It Molds) and tell them the problem. They are very good at customer service and they will help you re-solve your problem.

  6. These work great and won’t explode. I like working with Pyrex or anchor better as they have handles and are easier to work with. This would be a good workaround for explosive Pyrex. That said, I’ve never had a Pyrex cup explode but my shop is heated. https://www.amazon.com/iSi-Set-Flexible-Measuring-Cups/dp/B001CDBBY8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1549822980&sr=8-4&keywords=silicone+measuring+cups

  7. The manufacturer, Mustang wire, said the keepers are in spec but they are going to go back to the original design. That is double speak for "I decided to make more money but making them shorter but I'll admit no wrong doing" . I never heard back but I did get 500 to try and they were fine.

  9. I had time this am to try soldering the two ss wires with copper wrapped and fluxed. It seems to be working like a charm. That will make wire and hook placement in my mold so much easier. Thanks a bunch for the tips.

  10. I just ordered one. Angling A.I. has just listed a new Single Tail Grub mold. I been waiting for a someone to come out with a Grub mold. I'm glad that Angling A.I took the time to put one out. Also, a company that sends out the molds that are ordered. Super nice finished molds that shoot great. Thanks Angling A.I. http://anglingai.com/4-inch-cali-single-tail-grub/

  11. I use .065 weed wacker replacement string for my weed guards, and to make my chatterbaits and swimjigs weedless, too. I try to get the clear 5 sided string replacement spools. I get them from Ace Hdwe.
