  1. Teds right on the money. Push and turn the handle at the same time to make tight loops on your Hagen’s.

  2. Each piece of yarn is actually four strands. I tied them on first and then unraveled them. This 12 strand version is about as dense as I would make one. I may make a couple of 8 strand versions to see if they give enough volume to the skirt. I can tell you a 24 strand version is really heavy when it gets wet. Cheapest skirt ever!

  3. I put mine in a toaster oven set at like 150-200 degrees. I only leave it in for a couple minutes and also pre-heat my molds that way to. Work awesome in the winter when the garage is in the 30s-40s.

  4. I have the Hagens wire former. I can tell you this. The Hagen's will form tight wraps up to .041 like the Twistech. However you have to keep pressure on the spindle as you push and turn the handle. I don't know if that is easier or harder then the Twistech as I don't own the other two. I will say when bending .062 wire, it is easy to do with the Hagen's however I find the wraps are a little looser, maybe because of all the effort it takes to bend the thicker diameter wire. Thanks for the comparison.

  5. I also use the 5304's in my brush jigs. If memory serves, things didn't quite fit right at first, but a hard smack or two and we're A-ok. Cheaters note, The VMC Barbarians are VERY similar design, and lots cheaper.

  6. Any old mild soap and water upto and including dish detergent will work fine. If you received a mold that still has cutting fluids on it Dawn dish soap for example will work just fine. Is there a reason you are asking about cleaning molds? Unless you have gotten them dirty there is usually never a need to clean aluminum molds.

  7. I don't clean my molds unless they have some kind of residue on them. When I rarely clean them I spray them with a solution of alcohol and water then wipe them down with a cloth. But like I stated that is rare.
