  1. I bought it and got me 1000 1/0 Gamakatsu #114 hooks that were supposed to work with it. They didn’t. I modified it and filled in the voids with red rtv silicone. I did not like the bait keepers so I filled their slots with the silicone. Now it works the way I want it to work.

  7. 1. Nobody on here was the first person to paint a crankbait. Get over yourselves. You started at some point too. 2. You should be glad that custom baits are gaining in popularity because you have more competition on the equipment/supplies side. More competition means more innovation and possibilities. 3. Do you discredit an artist because he didn’t handcraft his canvas? What about a sculptor because he didn’t make his own clay? Where do you draw the line? If I cast my own crankbait blanks, can I call them custom...even though I didn’t invent the resin I used? Bottom line, you’re mad because other people are taking a piece of the pie. Welcome to capitalism. Like skeeter said, be the best and don’t worry about the rest. Row your own boat.

  8. When using Rod Bond paste epoxy, how many lips etc you can do in about an hour or maybe as long as 1 1/2 hour is its only limitation. I appreciate the stuff because it allows me plenty of time to tweak lip positions as many times as my OCD makes me. And it doesn’t require any heroic measures or techniques to keep its pot life very long. I also don’t have to worry too much about getting lip slots cut to just the right thickness. After the slot is filled with epoxy its gel texture will hold a lip in place whatever the slot thickness.

  9. I like Rod Bond regular speed paste epoxy for installing lips. The pot/work time is about an hour. It gets fairly hard in 6 hrs, full cure 12-18 hrs. Makes for easy installation, waterproof,

  10. Nothing new but something others may not have seen yet. I don't remember where I first saw these, but they are easy and cheap to make. Supplies: 2x4 1/8" dowel rod Alligator clips I cut the 2x4 into 3" sections. Next I drilled two 9/64 holes 1.5" apart (or whatever you spacing needs to be for the hook hangers) for the dowel rods. Cut the dowel rods to 4" sections and crimped the alligator clips on the ends. Last I glued the dowels in the holes of the 2x4's. That's it. Simple, cheap, and easy to make lure holders.
