  1. Hillbilly, if you just search the term “jitterbug” with our search feature you’ll find a lot of information gathered through the years.I do remember someone saying the angle of the bill should be around 30 degrees ..Nathan

  4. I'm aware of that. But I really want to create my own from my own casting. Just a personal preference.

  5. I am going to have to try this stuff out sometime because I definitely get frustrated chasing grain on cedar at times. It also seems to give a nice smooth surface

  6. Thanks Nathan I will do a search to look at the information regarding the jitterbug as a reference The jitterbug is similar but the Australian surface paddlers are closer to the end result I am looking for. One thing I noticed was the jitterbug and Australian surface paddlers use very different angles. They also use different shape wing/cup too. The jitterbug is definitely in the same family but the Australian’s have definitely expanded into a variety of lures in this family I am putting together a few different styles of body using different angles and some different styles of wing. The action I am going for will hopefully be more aggressive then the jitterbug Yes I am probably trying to reinvent the wheel with a tweak. I have a vision in my head but knowing my luck the fish won’t agree with my vision

  7. Do you actually know what the temp you are getting? I find this stuff way more heat tolerable than most on the market.

  9. I talked to the guys are Bait Plastics today. My thoughts were right for a change. Could be one of two things, Mix the hardpack at the bottom of the jug more better. I'm going to try one of those pant mixers you stick in a drill. And he also told me to make sure I heat the stuff hot enough. I tried to be really careful as this stuff seems to be super fragile with heat. I did get a number of re-heats with the stuff before it started to yellow a bit. So I added it to some darker colored leftover stuff.

  13. That spinnerbait in Hank Parker's video looks like the one Blades was making. I know Blades and Parker are friends and have fished together and Blades was looking for him to endorse that spinnerbait. Maybe Blades will see this and chime in. As far as the "classic", I think that wire was an .028. I make a spinnerbait on .028 and the vibration is incredible and it is a fish catching machine! There is a down side to light wire: Every fish will tear up the lure and need to be re-formed by hand or put a small bender in ur boat. Eventually the vibration will cause the "R" bend to break. Most store bought spinnerbaits are on .035 so they don't bend or break....... but light wire catches more fish!!
