  1. If you want to get a bunch of weight, shotgun shell shot is a good option. You can get a 25 pound bag of I think it's #6 from bass proshops for about $50. It can be used as is, or melts down nicely if want to go that route in the future, to fill holes or make jigs and spoons ect.

  2. A cheaper alternative to Mend-It for soft eyes would be HH-66. HH-66 is the same as Mend-It just not repackaged. You can find small cans on Amazon for around $8.00 shipped.

  3. They can make any of their molds in aluminum even if they don't show the aluminum version on the site. You just need to ask.

  4. Baitmold's has both of those molds. I can't remember if they have the swimmer in a aluminum injection mold or not but they do have it in a stone mold. Th.y do have the zoom mold in aluminum.

  6. No snow here in Maine but it's having a hard time getting above 45 degrees and we've had a lot of steady, fairly strong wind. Feels like 30. I hesitate going out on the water when that happens thinking.... just wait a bit, it will warm up.

  7. Columbia coatings is where I get most of my paint. Harbor Freight isn't as good as any other paint I have tried but it will work. With that being said I would stay away from it until you get more experience. Allen

  8. alsworms, thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. The thing about the color that bled is that it didn't say non bleed on the bottle. All of the other non bleed colors I bought had non bleed marked on the bottle. I also went on M-Fs web site and looked to see if they listed a non bleed transparent orange, and they didn't. It makes me think Lurepartsonline has a mistake on their web site. I sent them an e mail about it, but haven't heard anything back from them as of yet. hpssports, thank you for the reply as well. I wrote that down. Definitely a money saver. I appreciate the tip.

  9. That’s the advantage of TU sometimes options to a problem from a different train of thought can be handy Now you just need to build one and catch a big fish on it lol

  10. That’s a great idea! hadn’t even thought about trying that. Only idea I had thought of was pouring some plastic on a flat surface and then cutting them out and glueing them. I think I like your idea better lol

  11. Now that is what lure making to me is about designing something that fits your vision of what you want a lure to do. Congrats I hope it treats you well and the fish cooperate You mentioned you want legs. Just an idea you might want to try that popped in my head. You could always take strands of skirt material thread it through the body with a needle. A dab of glue shot into the body after to keep them in place and trim to length just a thought there is no lack of size and color options for material

  12. 2" minnow, floater, hand carved cedar blank with through-wire. Best for inland lakes and private ponds. At 13, having fun making lures and fishing them in Michigan.
