  1. Routers are unforgiving tools! Especially when working in close quarters with a small piece or wood. I suggest make some sort of jig that removes your fingers from the danger zone. Here is a few ideas and past conversations for jigs when using the router. I see no reason to get my fingers anywhere near there. www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/21991-using-a-table-router-to-make-lures/

  2. Hey guys, I'm in kind of a bind. Deadon is not the way to go so I went back to my old faithful MF 464 mix and they're saying up to 5 weeks ship time due to the current conditions of the world. I have an order outstanding and a trip next month where I'll be expected to have plastics and a shop that I was planning on restocking. I need two gallons of plastic within the next two weeks that are about the same stiffness of 464 (50/50 mix of soft and hard plastisol). Can anyone recommend a company that I could get it from? Thanks in advance for any tips.

  3. Wish I could offer a suggestion but haven’t painted plastics. Just wanted to say, dang those sure are nice. Fine work!

  4. What kind of to coat are you using for these? A lot of people just use really thin, clear plastisol(like Clearasol) to coat anything like this. For myself, I'd rather brush the inside of the mold with the mica powders before injecting or pouring.

  5. I called this morning and asked some questions I had. He said that he definitely wouldn't use the Super Tough Saltwater for injection molding because it would be way too thick and would stop up the injector. I'm guessing it would be best for simple open pours. I'm going to get the normal #312 saltwater plastic.

  7. Anybody here ever use the Bait Plastics Saltwater Super tough formula? I just want to know if it's really stiff. Trying to decide between that and the regular saltwater plastic.

  8. I know what you mean about people thinking your going after their job. Years ago when I was a leadman building furniture for private jets,Learjets and such, it was my job to teach the new ones. I was more than willing to train them until some would get the idea that now that they were trained they were as smart as me and sometimes tried to undermine me with the boss. That was when they "Graduated" and I'd let them realize you don't learn everything in a month of training. I do appreciate you sharing . . . makes things alittle easier and cheaper

  11. I finally did a video with some routing, in this vid i clamp the wood down and move the router, i don't always use this method, sometimes on larger lures i clamp on end down and route the other end then swap, but i find this easy for one offs
