  4. Hello anglers friends, greetings from Peru. It has passed long time since my last visit to the Forum. I hope you all and your families are doing well. After more than three years without posting any video of my work in my Youtube channel, I restarted again to work on one of my favorites hobbies which is lure making. I want to share the last lures that I’m making for trout fishing at my homeshop. I think that the passion and emotion that every angler who ties or make a wooden lure is the same. Our common dream is to catch our beautiful preys with something done by ourselves. This time, I want to talk and show these tiny balsa wooden lures made with the purpose to have fun when I go for catching trouts in the creeks located in Peruvian highlands. The Attila Trout Hunter is a tiny lure made of Balsa wood, about 1 5/8” length (4cm), 5/16 oz weight (3.2gr), fantasy and natural colours, armed with #12 or #14 Gamakatsu hooks, and small 3D homemade eyes. Something important to say, each lure is “one of a kind”. To have a plenty and pleasure fishing experience using the Attila Trout Hunter, it’s needed to use a good ultralight equipment (UL rod 5.5', 6-8 lbs line, 10-12 FC leader). In this way you can be accurate when casting these light lures, and when you catch a trout feel in HD the fight with those gorgeous fishes. Something to remark, given that I love the beautiness of trouts, I always do C&R. Therefore, before to use any of these lures, first I kill all hooks barbs. I invite you to watch my video using the below link, and please let me know your thoughts, and give me your comments and recommendations. Thanks, https://youtu.be/cnfk_dn9U-E

  6. This used to be pretty common, not so sure if that's the case these days, though. You have something different. Something fishermen haven't seen. Maybe one of those guys wins a tournament or catches a nice fish on your bait. Maybe he tells a friend and he tells a friend. Next thing you know it's taking off. Happens with every "hot" lure. Think Senko, Chatterbait, Basstrix, etc. If you don't want to sell your baits, one of 3 things will happen...... 1) You will tell them no 2) You will continue selling them your baits at outrageous prices until they realize they are outrageous prices and stop paying for your baits 3) It'll just simmer down Having seen this countless times, my guess is number 3. In the meantime, enjoy the extra cash and the compliments you are getting on your baits. Good luck :-)

  7. Well, I got the main color close with Green Pumpkin, Orange and Watermelon but as soon as I put green highlight in it (no mater how little), It brightens and clouds the main color. The more I look at my sample, the more I think they use an ultra fine glitter or a pearl instead of hi-lite.

  8. There have been no hard and fast rules defined, everyone has their own methods, which makes this such a good question. My advice is to get the root of the lip as deep into the lure as possible. As for fixing/gluing the lip, I am hoping that you get lots of replies. I am not a professional builder and so I am not your guy Dave

  9. I would say wood drill bits and some ss wire you got your custom mold. 2 pieces of 1x3 clamped together and drill the meeting point pull apart tape wire to just below bottom of hole and re-clamp boards back together, make sure wire is straight and in the middle of whole. pour in lead you are done...... different size bit to adjust weight.

  11. Hand pour the dark line in one half of the mold then close and shoot the other color . Works well with some molds.

  12. Hey @eastman03 Awesome! Glad it helped you and the eyes look great man! After months of work I finally have built a new workshop and have gotten it stocked up. Just ordered some resin, microballoons, silicone, etc., and am looking forward to going into full production mode. I was thinking about modifying the Photoshop template to add layers for 15 and 20mm eyes so if you need the updated one I'll gladly get it to you.

  14. BTW - Dryer lint is a fantastic fire starting material. Go ahead and try it sometime. It will convince you to keep that lint filter clean. I always carry some with me as part of my survival kit when ice fishing. As for dog fur, I saved some from my favorite dog (Gypsy) before she passed. She loved to fish with me. Well I tied some gold ribbed hares ear nymphs with some of her fur. So in a way she still does go fishing with me.
